Sausage Stuffed Mushroom Caps

Transform your average mushrooms into a bite sized bursts of flavor. Filled with your choice of mild chicken sausage for a subtle flavor or zesty chorizo for a bit of spice, they make an easy appetizer that your guests are sure to enjoy.

Ingredients

Large mushroom caps (white or cremini, stems removed)

Cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup
Parmesan cheese (grated)
1/2 cup
Garlic powder
2 tsp
Olive oil
1 Tbsp
Salt and Pepper
to taste

Utensils

  • Cutting board
  • Mixing bowl
  • Skillet

Instructions

 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C)
Clean the mushroom caps with a damp paper towel and set them aside

 

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Place the mushroom caps on a baking sheet. Fill each cap with the sausage mixture, mounding it slightly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden.

Let cool for a few minutes and serve warm as a tasty appetizer or snack.
