Fighting for Food Freedom

Fighting for Food Freedom

A view from our kitchen, overflowing with summer’s bounty! When you work with nature, she always delivers rich, nourishing food.

If caring where your food comes from makes you 'extreme,' then welcome to our farm where the biggest family feud involves who gets dibs on the first cherry tomato.

It's peak summer at our Ozark farm, where nature's bounty has us scrambling like chickens after june bugs. Our counters are buried under a cucumber avalanche, the freezer's packed with berries, and we've got so much raw milk that Sam's turned into a regular cheese wizard. Those tomato vines? Loaded like they're showing off. But I swear, one more argument over who spotted that perfect cherry tomato first might tear this family apart (kidding... mostly).

Here's the thing about working with nature instead of against it - she gives you abundance, but on her schedule, not yours.

Modern farming is stripping our soil and stealing our nutrition.
Here's how regenerative agriculture is bringing real nutrients back to your plate.

While Big Ag's busy creating tomatoes with the shelf life of a Twinkie (and the nutritional value to match) we're out here praying this unseasonably wet summer doesn't turn our heirloom harvest into soup on the vine. And don't get me started on the deer treating our green beans and sweet potatoes like their personal salad bar.

Is it worth battling deer for green beans and refereeing cherry tomato disputes? When you taste the difference - when you see your kids learning that real food comes from soil and sweat, not factories - there's no question. Every tomato Sam picks, every batch of cheese he makes, every cucumber we pickle - they're all tiny acts of rebellion. Small victories against a food system that wants us dependent on grocery stores instead of gardens.

When only two states have 'Right to Garden' laws protecting citizens, you know something's fundamentally broken. Nicole Virgil in Illinois had to fight for YEARS just to put up a hoop house. Meanwhile, we can't even legally sell you the raw milk that's overflowing our fridge - the same nutrient-dense milk our family thrives on - because somehow the government thinks they know better than you what's safe for your family.

Fueling our family with nutrient-dense raw milk, straight from our farm

Of course Big Food wants you to think you're overreacting. That caring this much about your food makes you "difficult" or "extreme." But whether it's heirloom tomatoes or grass-fed beef, when real food has 5-10x more nutrients than their factory versions? You're not extreme - you're awake. And they hate that we're all waking up together.

Your farmer (with pickle juice on his shirt and hope in his heart),
