Ingredients

Broccoli, cut into florets
1 lb
Fresh ginger, grated
1 tsp
Garlic, minced
2 tsp
Soy sauce (or Tamari if GF)
6 Tbsp
Sesame oil
2 Tbsp
Light brown sugar, packed
3 Tbsp
Corn starch
1 1/2 Tbsp
Black pepper
1/2 tsp
Olive oil
3 Tbsp
Hot water
1/2 cup
Sesame seeds (optional)
2 tsp

Utensils

  • Large cast iron
  • Bowl

Instructions

Combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, cornstarch, pepper, and water in a bowl, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Cut the steak into thin strips.

Place a large cast iron over medium heat and add 2 Tbsp olive oil. Add the broccoli florets and sautƩ 5 minutes until cooked through - broccoli will be bright green and crisp-tender.

Remove the broccoli into a bowl.

Increase the heat to high and add another Tbsp of oil. Add the beef in a single layer, sautƩing 1-2 mins per side until lightly browned. Be careful not to overcook.

Pull the pieces off into the same bowl as the broccoli.

Reduce the heat to medium/low and add the sauce, simmering for 4-5 minutes until thickened. Add back in the broccoli and beef and stir.

Enjoy!
