What is minute steak?

Minute steak is a weeknight chef's solution to serving a delicious and nutritious meal that requires minimal prep and cleanup.

A great choice for the health-conscious, minute steak is a leaner cut that has less fat and cholesterol than other steaks.

Often mistaken for cube steak, minute steak is actually tenderized round steak that’s quite tender and therefore cooks quickly. This very lean cut can become leathery if cooked for too long, so stay close and attentive throughout the cooking process.

Our Grass Roots minute steak is hand-carved and tenderized to ensure an even thickness, making minute steak a quick-cooking cut that’s perfect for grilling, frying, braising, and more.

Let’s explore the easiest minute steak recipes for last-minute dinner deliciousness.

The Grass Roots Way

The quality of the minute steak on your plate starts long before the cooking process begins.

Here at Grass Roots, we’re a collective of farmers who raise animals with the absolute highest standards. Our cattle live outdoors in the sunlight and fresh air, as nature intended.

  • 100% grass fed and grass finished
  • Daily access to fresh, non-GMO pasture
  • No synthetic hormones or antibiotics
  • Never fed grain or grain by-products.

We raise animals in small batches and practice regenerative farming methods, which provides the healthiest and most humane conditions for the animals while restoring soil quality for generations to come. The result is nutrient-dense meat that’s good for the environment and proven to be more flavorful than conventionally-raised meat.
