Slow Cooker BBQ Brisket

Tender, smoky, and packed with flavor, this Slow Cooker BBQ Brisket is the perfect set it and forget it meal. A pasture raised brisket is slow cooked until fork-tender, then finished under the broiler with an extra layer of barbecue sauce for irresistible caramelized edges. It's an easy recipe that's perfect for busy weeknights, family dinners, or feeding a crowd.

Ingredients

Favorite BBQ Rub
to coat brisket
Salt

Pepper
1/2 tsp
Paprika
1 tsp
Olive Oil
1 tblsp
Beef Broth
1 cup
Garlic Cloves, minced
2-3
Yellow Onion, sliced
1/2
Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon
Favorite BBQ Sauce
1 cup
Garlic Powder
2 tsp
Onion Powder
1 tsp
Liquid Smoke
1 tsp

Utensils

Instructions

Season the brisket generously on all sides with your favorite BBQ rub, salt, pepper, and paprika.

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned.

Transfer the brisket to a slow cooker. Add the beef broth, garlic, onion, Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and liquid smoke. Cover and cook on Low for 8–10 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender.

Carefully transfer the brisket to a baking sheet. Brush with an additional layer of BBQ sauce.

Broil for 5 minutes, then flip, brush with more BBQ sauce, and broil for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and lightly caramelized.

Let the brisket rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing or shredding. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
