Utensils

  • Baking sheet

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C)

Trim the tough ends of the asparagus by snapping or cutting off about 1-2 inches from the bottom.

Take each asparagus spears and wrap them tightly with a slice of bacon. Secure the bacon at the ends by slightly tucking or overlapping it.

Place the wrapped asparagus on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Drizzle with olive oil and season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper flakes.

Sprinkle the lemon zest over the top for a bright, zesty kick.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender. For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.

Remove from the oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top just before serving.
