Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder Roast

Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder Roast

This is a well-balanced combination of savory, garlicky, and slightly sweet flavors. The pork is easy to shred and likely absorbs the essence of the onions, carrots, and seasonings.

This is a comforting and flavorful slow-cooked pork dish with a blend of aromatic vegetables and seasonings. Enjoy!

pork roast

Ingredients

Sweet onions, sliced
2 medium
Carrots, peeled and roughly chopped
2 large
Garlic pork rub of choice (or you can make your own!)
4 Tbsp
Salt
1 tsp
Chicken bone broth
2 cups

Utensils

  • Slow cooker (6qt)

Instructions

Grease a 6 qt. slow cooker with cooking spray.

Chop the onions and carrots and place them in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Rub the pork with your seasoning blend and salt.

Place the pork on top of the onions and carrots in the slow cooker.

Pour the chicken bone broth around the roast (not over it!)

Add the lid and cook on low for 8-10 hours, depending on the size of the roast, or until meat pulls apart easily with a fork and falls off the bone.

Remove from crockpot and the shred meat.

Remove and discard any large pieces of fat. Serve with carrots and onions!
