3 Reasons Frozen Meat is Safer And Healthier For You

3 Reasons Frozen Meat is Safer And Healthier For You

Our farmers’ cooperative is both your local farmer and your butcher. And, guess what? The way your meat is butchered is just as important as the way it is raised.

  1. Did you know that there is no limit to the number of times a grocery store can freeze and defrost meat before selling it? At Grass Roots, we freeze our products at the peak of freshness—once—then ship direct to your door.

  2. Did you know that in large scale processing plants they ship first, test for bacteria that could cause foodborne illness later? We test all products for salmonella and E. Coli and receive the results in hand before sending products to our customers.

  3. Did you know that dry-aging decreases instances of E.coli? Our meat is frozen immediately after packaging. All other cuts of beef are dry aged—a process that not only adds flavor but is also shown to reduce instances of E.coli—and then frozen as soon as aging is complete.

We are reconnecting people nationwide with your local farmer. With farmers across the USA, we make it easy to source the healthiest and highest quality meat for you and your family.
