The drumstick is the lower meaty part of a chicken leg (not to be confused with a drumette, which is part of the wing). Dark meat lovers know that drumsticks from pastured chickens are plumper and more tender than conventional drumsticks. And wow do they impress – whether you bake them, air fry them, or grill them up barbecue style. Probably the most classic dish is crispy oven baked drumsticks. Coat them with olive oil and your choice of seasonings, then bake for 40 minutes at 400 degrees, flipping once during cooking, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
